Head of Group Process Excellence and Group Technology | PSA International
Goh Mia Hock is Head of Group Process Excellence and Group Technology. He oversees Group level functions including Operations Development, IT, Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) & Data for Excellence (DFE) as well as Technology; and is senior advisor to Group Corporate Affairs. He also sits on the Senior Management Council of PSA International.
In his Group Operations Development and Group IT portfolios, Mia Hock provides the leadership in deriving global port operational and IT synergies and spearheading innovation for the PSA Group. He promotes the sharing of operations, engineering and IT knowledge across all PSA ports globally, and conducts operational-related due diligence for business development projects. He is actively involved in procuring terminal equipment and operating systems, and has set up various mechanisms to facilitate Group procurement of equipment and spares. Mia Hock and his team oversee the benchmarking of terminal productivity and identify emerging technologies that PSA can apply not only in its core container handling business but also in logistics and IT platform solutions. His team also works with line departments to provide a safe, secure and sustainable work environment, adopting a systematic HSSE framework and propagating a positive HSSE culture throughout the PSA Group. He leads the DFE team to support and promote the advance application of data analytics and its assimilation into the business processes of PSA.
Mia Hock also plays an advisory role to Group Corporate Affairs and provides guidance on policies, media and crisis communications for consistent corporate branding and messaging across the PSA Group. He has held an active role in Group Corporate Affairs as its Senior Vice President up until 2010.
Mia Hock built his career with PSA over the last 30 years. He worked through the ranks and acquired broad management experience through rotation via various functions and assignments including the planning for the Pasir Panjang Terminal, strategic planning, market and operations research, corporate services (corporate communications, legal & secretariat services) and maritime security. Mia Hock’s in-depth knowledge of the business and operations has enabled him to formulate and implement Group-wide policies with a holistic view and a pragmatic approach.
Prior to his current appointment, Mia Hock was Senior Vice President for Planning from 1999 through 2004 in PSA Corporation and has also served as the Company Secretary of PSA International.
