Digital Twin/IOT: Improving VisIbility in the Terminal
Thursday 20th May 2021, 5:00PM – 6:15PM BST
Internet of Things and 5G Networking have enabled technologies such as Digital Twin to be, by creating a network of the physical objects in the Terminal, allowing the collection of data from all sensors and machines, and improving overall visibility. This session will unpack how the technology is transforming the way terminals are making decisions by allowing operators to replicate and simulate processes and preventing mistakes which may cost time and money.

• How the IoT can vastly improve visibility across the entire terminal, create a clear picture of every aspect of port operations and minimise ‘lost data’.
• How the ability to simulate processes will allow terminal operators to test their decisions before implementing them.
• Real-world examples of the improvement in efficiency and resiliency that a Digital Twin Engine can yield.
• The increasing role of VR in port operations: The perfect partner to Digital Twin?
